Marlene Elaine Luebbe was born Aug. 23, 1943, to Glenwood and LaVerda (Finke) Hintz in Deshler.

She attended Bruning High School, graduating in 1961. On Dec. 22, 1963, Marlene was united in marriage to Lonnie Luebbe at Zion Lutheran Church in Shickley. Marlene was a housewife and mother, who enjoyed taking care of her family. She also worked as a data entry operator. Marlene taught Sunday School and assisted Lonnie on the farm, raising sheep and cattle. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and LWML. Marlene passed away April 27, 2024, in Lincoln, at the age of 80.

She is survived by her husband, Lonnie Luebbe of Pleasant Dale; children, Lyle Luebbe of Pleasant Dale, and Kathy (Brian) Stahnke of Pleasant Dale, and Ryan (Jamie) Luebbe of Salt Lake City, Utah; grandchildren, Ashley Stahnke, Rachel Stahnke and Luke Luebbe; sister, Marcella (Rick) Meyer of Kearney; brother, Glen Hintz, Jr.; sister-in-law, Verda (Cliff) Schweitzer; and nephews and nieces. Marlene was preceded in death by her parents, Glenwood and LaVerda Hintz; and sister-in-law, Marge Hintz.

The funeral service was May 4 at Immanuel Lutheran Church – Middle Creek, rural Seward with committal at the church cemetery. Memorial contributions are suggested in care of the Luebbe family. Arrangements by Volzke Funeral Home.
