Council sets wellness center fees

Seward families will be able to be able to purchase a monthly membership for the new wellness center for $75 per month and occasional users will pay $20 per day when the Seward Wellness Center opens next spring.

Homecoming season

EVENTS

TODAY - LWV to meet

The League of Women Voters of Seward County will host a “get acquainted” social gathering at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 25, at Red Path Gallery in Seward. Appetizers and a beverage will be provided. In addition to discussing this fall’s election events, members will share the non-partisan, nonprofit organization’s mission and history of advocating for voting rights and voter education for more than 100 years. The organization is open to men and women.

TODAY - Farmer's market open Wednesday

The Seward Farmers Market will be open Wednesday, Sept. 18, from 5-7 p.m. at the Seward County Fairgrounds. The hamburger stand will be hosted by the Our Redeemer Youth Group.

TOMORROW - Line dancing

The Seward Memorial Library will host line dancing classes Thursday evenings at 6:30 p.m. Jacki Mason will demonstrate new steps as well as dance to some old favorites. Line dancing continues through Nov. 14.

TOMORROW - TOPS meets

TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) meets weekly on Thursdays at the Living Word Church, 1300 Hillcrest, south door. TOPS is a weight management support group. Weigh-in begins at 11:15 a.m. and the meetings are from noon to 12:30 p.m. The initial meeting is free.

YELDEN, John

Visitation for John Yelden will be today, Sept. 25, from 3-7:30 p.m. at Volzke Funeral Home in Seward. Family and friends will gather from 6-7:30 p.m. The funeral service will be Thursday, Sept. 26, at 10:30 a.m. at Friedens United Church of Christ in Seward. Committal will follow in the Seward Cemetery.
