MEETING MINUTES Board of Education Regular Meeting December 12, 2016 7:00 PM District Office Attendance Taken at 7:00 PM: Present Board Members: Paul Duer, Lisa Dworak, Scott Pekarek, Jerry Rumery, Ryne Seaman, Curt Sherman. Call meeting to order & announce Open Meetings Act is posted. 1.2. Public Notice as publicized per board policy. 1.3. Roll Call 1.3.a. Discussion: There was none. 3. Reports 3.1. Administrator Reports Discussion: Written reports were received from the administrators. 3.2. Student Board Member Report Discussion: Evan Mettenbrink presented his report to the board. 3.3. PRIDE Program at SHS Discussion: Mr. Axt and Mrs. Johnson presented on the P.R.I.D.E. program at the High School. They explained how the program works and the benefits of student recognition. 3.4. NASB State Conference Report Discussion: Curt Sherman, Paul Duer and Jerry Rumery reported on the NASB State Conference they attended. 3.5. Central Conference Update Discussion: Dr. Barnes updated the board on the Central Conference schools. 4. Discussion Items 4.1. Buildings and Grounds Discussion: Dr. Barnes updated the board on buildings and grounds. An Easement/Agreement was finalized with the School District of Seward, City of Seward and Star Street homeowners so an engineer can be hired and design a drainage solution. The board discussed the potential sale of property on the south side of the Middle School. Dr. Barnes and the board also discussed the facility study. 5. New Business 5.1. Separation Incentive Program Motion Passed: Motion to accept the separation incentive program applications of Jeannette Adamek and Sherry Menze effective at the end of the 2016-17 school year; passed with a motion by Paul Duer and a second by Jerry Rumery.
