Milford beats Broncos, Pioneers on court

The Milford volleyball team picked up two wins on the court last week, defeating Centennial 25-15, 25-12, 21-25, 25-11 Oct. 1 and Nebraska City 25-12, 25-8, 25-9 Oct. 3.

“The team played well last week,” Coach Emily Restau said. “There was a lot of energy, aggressive play and positive mentalities.”

In the win over Centennial, Shayla Rautenberg pounded 20 kills and served four aces. Kylie Jakub delivered 33 assists.

The win over Nebraska City saw Rautenberg with 14 kills and Jakub with 22 assists.

The Eagles (12-5) were to host Crete Oct. 8 and York Thursday, Oct. 10, at 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 12, the team will be at Thayer Central for a tournament starting at 9 a.m.
