Patricia A. Heermann passed away March 10, 2022, in Lincoln. Pat was born Aug. 9, 1930, to R. Walter and Dorothy (Bradley) Johann in Seward.

She graduated from Seward High School in 1947. In 1951, Pat earned her BA from Nebraska Wesleyan University. While at Wesleyan, she was an active member of Delta Zeta Sorority. She also competed in a variety of collegiate athletics, including basketball and softball for which she earned a letter. Pat went on to earn a Masters of Education from the University of Nebraska in 1963. Her professional career was spent as an elementary school teacher. Her career took her to Sidney, Central City and York and a short time in Lynwood, California. She retired from Lincoln Public Schools in May 1995.

Pat loved reading, playing bridge, travel and gathering with friends. She was an active member in PEO and The Women of Redeemer.

She married Dean E Heermann on Sept. 1, 1962. They were married for 54 years until his passing in 2017.

She is survived by her sons, Bradley D. Heermann, MD, and Phillip J. (Carrie) Heermann of Lincoln; grandchildren, Melanie L. Heermann and fiancé Austin C.J. Weber of Dallas, Texas, and Molly E Heermann of Lincoln; and sister-in-law, Donna Redinbaugh.

A memorial service will be Thursday, March 17, at 10:30 a.m. at Redeemer Lutheran Church. There will be visitation at Roper and Sons Mortuary on Wednesday March 16, with family greeting guests from 5 to 7 p.m. Memorial contributions are suggested to Lincoln Food Bank Backpack Program or Lutheran Family Services of Nebraska.
