Law enforcement investigating I-80 fatality accident

A multi-vehicle crash on eastbound I-80 near mile marker 377 on the morning of Sept. 11 resulted in the death of a California truck driver.
A preliminary investigation on scene revealed a tractor-trailer traveling eastbound at about 6:15 a.m., driven by Suny Rattu, 34, Lincoln, California, collided with the rear of another tractor-trailer that was also traveling eastbound. Rattu was pronounced dead at the scene.
The operator and sole occupant of the first vehicle, Ahmad K. Bazgar, 40, Falls Church, Virginia, was transported to Seward Memorial Hospital with minor injuries.
The accident is being investigated by the Seward County Sheriff’s Office and Nebraska State Patrol. Seward Fire and Rescue, Seward Police Department, Nebraska State Patrol and Nebraska Department of Transportation assisted on scene.
