Paint issue delays work on water tower

The first efforts to put a base coat on Seward’s new water tower hit a snag that will likely delay the completion of the tower and the demolition of the old tower.

TODAY - Drive-thru flu shots in Seward

Memorial Health Care Systems will host a drive-through flu shot clinic for those ages 18 and older Monday, Oct. 14, from 3-5 p.m. at the west parking lont of the Seward Family Medical Center. You can download the flu vaccine form at www.mhcs.us to bring with you. You should also bring your insurance card and wear short sleeves. Only one shot per window of the vehicle.

TOMORROW - Empty Bowl soup luncheon

The Seward Kiwanis will host its Empty Bowl soup luncheon Tuesday, Oct. 15, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Harvest Hall. Tickets for lunch, dessert and a bowl from Down Under Pottery may be purchased at Cattle Bank, Jones Bank or Union Bank.

TOMORROW - Alzheimer’s support group to meet

The Seward County Alzheimer’s Care Givers Support Group will meet at Kinship Pointe the third Tuesday of every month. Meetings begin at 7 p.m. If you are interested in attending, contact Cass at (402) 258-3700.

The funeral service for Gloria Warner will be Monday, Oct. 14, at 11 a.m. at Lauber Funeral Home in Milford. Interment will follow at Blue Mound Cemetery.
