UBC goes 1-1 on diamond

The Utica-Beaver Crossing Badgers hosted Wymore Diller Odell June 12 and lost to the visitors 13-4. On June 14, the team played Sutton and got the win 11-2.

UBC dug an eight-run hole in the first four innings against WDO and couldn’t dig out of it. The Badgers scored four runs in the fifth inning but then gave up five in the sixth.

Ayden Konken was 2-3 with a double and drove in two UBC runs. Keenan Kosek, Cooper Stelling, Shawn Rathjen and Hurley Harroun each pitched for UBC.

The Badgers put up five runs in the second against Sutton for a 6-2 lead. Kosek drove in three runs for UBC.

UBC (2-7) is scheduled to play at Sutton Thursday, June 20. The next scheduled games are a doubleheader Sunday, June 30, at home against Tri County.
